Narrative Design work for AoE IV: The Sultans Ascend
Working at Relic, a AAA game studio owned a the time by Sega, on Age of Empires IV, licensed by Microsoft, I was personally responsible for all text collectables within the campaign.
I conducted deep historical research and came up with several pitches, then worked closely with the Lead Narrative Designer and Narrative Director of AOE IV to create a shortlist of topics. I then wrote drafts of each, utilizing the specific voice of our narrator, a muslim chronicler of the era.
After incorporating any notes and direction, I then took full responsibility for implementing each one into the proprietary game engine.
Below you can see one such text-based collectible that is awarded to players after completing a level in game, featuring my writing.
Creative Director on Stika 2023-2024
Working with a small team of developers we’re developing a short narrative-driven horror game based on a true story. As the Creative Director and the Director of Narrative I worked closely with my Art Director and Game Designers to create levels, characters, and mechanics. Overseeing all levels of production, and responsible for all of the narrative in the game.

A story within a story, and an investigation of life. This 2018 project was crafted as a Thesis interactive installation, during which participants were encouraged to break with any preconceived notion of “rules”. The experience was designed so that no matter the route you took the story would still unravel in a profound way, in which the end still felt like a natural end.
Swept Away in the Great Escape
An auditory adventure that takes the audience on a physical journey of wonder and investigational play, to encourage curiosity and interaction with self and others.
Semifinalists.
The project was conceived by the NYU IDM Team and created for the 2016 Walt Disney Imagineering’s Imaginations Design Competition. The competition is a way for students and recent graduates to showcase their talents and for Walt Disney Imagineering to identify new talent. I was Participant #1: team leader, head researcher, logo designer, and story creator.
Teresa Yang: Art Direction. Alexis Trevizo: 3D Renders.
This project is the sole property of Walt Disney Imagineering and all rights to use these ideas are exclusive to Walt Disney Imagineering.
